Revolution
I think there’s some confusion over what a revolution is.
Going to your job and not doing what your boss tells you to do IS NOT A REVOLUTION. It’s just being an asshole.
Complaining about how stupid everyone is IS NOT A REVOLUTION. It’s just armchair politics.
Writing that revolution is one of your interests on your My Space profile…you get the point.
To be truly revolutionary:
Define revolution. Really understand what it means.
Then define what it is that you don’t agree with and why. You hate this and that and you know there’s a better way. Have you clearly stated how it would be better and how you can achieve the change? If not, you’re probably just being cynical. I have the utmost respect for anybody that dedicates themselves to something and makes it happen. I feel the opposite for people who complain about how screwed up something is but does nothing but claim there needs to be a ‘revolution’.
Revolt is not a casual thing. It takes a great deal of dedication and planning. Also, it’s much more effective when done peacefully.
Let’s say whatever it is you are so passionately pushing to change actually happens. Hmm. A new paradigm. Is that how it will be for eternity? Nope. Someone will be there revolting against this new establishment.
So what does revolution mean? It’s interesting that the way I’m using it here is the secondary definition. The first entry means spinning on an axis. The body moving and returning in the position it started. Might change your view of a revolution. Revolution is not cool, it’s necesary.
